325½ WEST 16TH STREET
NEW YORK, NY 10011
La Journee Serbe (The Serbian Journey)by D. Charles Fouqueray
32 x 47 inches (81 x 119 cm)
WWI poster depicting Serbian civilians and military personnel crossing the River Drina in what is now Yugoslavia. Thousands died that winter from the horrible conditions and lack of food. Kossovo was also significant because that is where the Serbians lost an equally important battle in 1389. This day was to benefit the Serbian Relief Fund in France.
